The Donny Osmond Story

So Donny and I go way back. Way back to my college days at BYU. He lived across the street from my Bishop and so we had him give our ward a fireside. It was to be on Marriage and Dating.... you know a good old BYU topic. Well, his wife was fabulous. She is beautiful, charming and had really good things to say. Donny, on the other hand, must not have been given the topic of the evening. So he just talked about himself all night long. It was fine, I guess until he refused to sing for us. Come on now, it was a fireside. We didn't want him to bust out "Soldier of Love" or anything. Since then he just bugs me.

Well the Children's Miracle Network (the people who paid for our tickets to Disneyworld) is run by Marie Osmond. So the last night we were in Florida, we got to go to an awards banquet. It was raining outside, so my dad dropped us off at the door. We were all dressed up, including the girls. Donny and his wife were standing right where my dad dropped us off and Donny turned and said to me, "you have the cutest little girls!!" There you have it! I didn't go goey or anything, but it was nice to have a celebrity tell me my girls were cute, because we certainly think so.

The rest of the night was fabulous! We heard Miss America sing, listened to Glenn Beck, and the grand finale was no other then the Osmonds themselves. It was quite comical to have all these ladies in their 50's swooning over Donny. The best part was when his granddaughter who was sitting at a table next to us, looked up at the big screen and said, "Look Daddy, it's grandpa!"

Sorry for the rambling...

More Disneyworld Photos!

So we went to Disneyworld for two reasons, the first one is ... It's Disneyworld, why wouldn't we want to go? And the second reason was that my Dad was receiving an award from the Children's Miracle Network, and we wanted to be there for his award ceremony (which we ended up not being invited to.) I must say, going to Disneyworld when you are part of a convention or something like one is the way to go!! We had a free shuttle to and from Epcot Center, we had a place to grab snacks and drinks for FREE and we had a first class front row seat to the Firework show. Not to mention we were able to have our own private meeting with Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto. It was the best!!! The trip couldn't have been better. The girls were great and we can't wait to go back!

The Orlando Airport

I know it is time to post when my sweet Mother-in-law calls from New Zealand to see if we are home from our trip to Disneyworld. It has been a week, but a very busy week since we got back from SUNNY Florida. We had such an awesome time. The weather was perfect, the theme parks weren't too busy and to top it all off, Donny Osmond told me my kids were "darling!" More on that story later.

So in my attempt to get caught up, we will start with our wait in the Orlando Airport. My parents were on a different plane from us (lucky them) so we had about an hour to kill before their plane arrived. The airport had all sorts of Disney stuff so we decided to take a bunch of pictures. Allie is still asking why Snow White is a Statue and why she is stuck to this bench. It doesn't matter how many times I explain it to her she just keeps asking! Brinley kept looking at Goofy's shoes and saying "phew, phew." I think that means "Ewww... yucky." We are still trying to figure out her language.

The Cake

This Cake deserves its own post. My mom and I worked on this cake the whole day before the party. It was a little hot pink for my taste, but Allie loved it and I thought it turned out so cute!! It was a huge cake so we had heaps of left overs!

Allie's 4th Birthday

Allie's Birthday Continued

It's only been over a month since Allie's 4th Birthday. It's better late than never right? We had so much fun. All the girls came dressed as their favorite Princess and little Daniel came as "just Daniel." Allie and her friend Kaitlyn were a little upset that Daniel the boy didn't come dressed like a prince and he wouldn't dance with them.

We played freeze dance, pin the crown on Sleeping Beauty, Poison Apple (like hot potato) and had a pinata. The kids were so well behaved and everyone had a great time.

Nana's Visit

We finally got Nana to come back up and visit us!! We were so happy to have her. I think she had a good time too. It snowed a lot while she was here and she was in Heaven. I don't know who had more fun in the snow Nana or Allie. It definately was a fabulous 4 days and we can't wait for her to come up again! Thanks Nana! Now if we could only get Grandad to visit......

Long Over Due!

I am just not good at keeping up to date on my own blog. Ask me a question about anyone else's blog and I will be sure to be up to date! Anyway, the next few blog entries are my attempt to get caught up. Thanks Nat for the extra push!
